Here’s where we’re at: after the modest 3D revolution which has been ocurring over the past few years in movie theatres, 3D is finally coming to our TV screens – in a big way! Don your glasses and watch the blogger event we recently organised to help Samsung spread the good news!

During the month of May a curious hashtag #S3DTV appeared on Twitter. It looked like something big was going to happen, and a lot of influencers appeared to be invited to witness a big event.

Suspense ended on May 31st when Sponge and Samsung finally gathered 60 of the top Belgian bloggers @ Loft 202 in Brussels for a presentation and an exclusive opportunity to try out (and win) Samsung’s brand new 3D products.

19h : Guests begin to arrive and get a feel for the lounge atmosphere of Loft 202 – many of them fall instantly into the groove, becoming acquainted with the cool toys and gadgets we left for them at the entrance (Avatar 3D + Modern Warfare video games on Xbox…).

20h : Almost all invitees are here (bloggers sure are punctual) and they begin to try out different Samsung 3D TVs that are placed around the venue (6000 to 9000 series + 3D Blu-Ray players). This leads to a flood of Twitter messages on the Twitwall we had installed.

21h : After a 3D technology presentation by Bruno Tazer, Samsung TV product manager and a travel through 3D movie history by Anthony ///, a 3D pionneer in Europe and a famous 3D filmmaker (Fly me to the Moon), it’s time for everybody to debrief around the buffet with some real 3D food.

22h30 : Let the games begin! It’s time for a 3D quiz to see if our bloggers were listening to the presentations. And also a fun way to check their knowledge of 3D movies!

23h : And the winners are… @Marievh is in first place and goes home with a complete Samsung 3D set ! /// and /// takes second and wins a Samsung Blu-Ray player and a Samsung Star Phone. Congratulations!

Since January 1st, 2010, waste sorting is mandatory in the Brussels area. A real opportunity for Bruxelles-Propreté and Sponge to join their efforts to spread the message and help to clean the city.

For its last communication campaign, Bruxelles-Propreté decided to inform citizens about selective waste sorting (PMD, paper and cardboard products) and what should be put in blue/yellow trash bags and when to take them out.

To support the existing posters campaign and to engage the citizens further, Sponge spoted a popular place where people are already doing some sorting and where could have the time to read a message and where they: launderettes.

300 posters as well as 600 stickers have been put on the drums of the washing machines in 100 launderettes with this simple message: “If you already sort your laundry then you can also sort your waste” and as such contribute to making Brussels a cleaner city.

To promote the eco responsible initiative “One fragrance, one tree” from Hugo Fragrances, we asked the famous Belgian designer & architect Charles Kaisin to build something huge, something crazy and something eco friendly… like a recycled forest of trees in the centre of Brussels for example.

The One fragrance, one tree project is simple: when buying a perfume from the limited edition Hugo Element or Hugo Man, you contribute to save the Amazonian wood by planting one tree in a nature reserve between Peru and Bolivia.

How to promote such a project and give it enough visibility without using the usual communications support such as flyers, posters… that unwillingly and unfortunately contribute to the exhaustion of the forest resources of our planet?

To solve this eco problem, we asked the Belgian designer and architect Charles Kaisin, specialized in recycling, in order to create a huge project that, through its size and nature, very quickly aroused the curiosity of passersby, bloggers and of course, the media.

We built a recycled forest of twelve trees of 8 meters each, made of 5000 wooden boxes used for fruit transportation in another lifetime. This piece of art disturbed the natural/industrial cycle by breathing a new life into material coming from the forest and used by men. The tree comes back to life while nature reclaims its rights.

At night, during the three weeks that the exhibition lasted and thanks to low consumption lighting, passersby and drivers have been able to appreciate a natural landscape with a surreal shade connecting them to the Hugo initiative in an original and unseen manner.

During the marketing campaign Hugo “One Fragrance, One Tree”, Sponge has revitalized Belgian perfumeries. We have developed and deployed “live-planting” happenings, a creative way to draw attention to this green project and offer a significant visibility to the brand in the shops.

“One Fragrance, One Tree”. It’s eco friendly and easy to understand. The message is even easier to get when you are surrounded by tropical vegetation in a relaxing space entirely designed by Hugo Fragrances.

During the whole campaign, we have been travelling through Belgium and Luxembourg to install vegetal walls in perfumeries in order to help clients breathe!!

While the gardeners were working, each client watching received a little bag of Sequoia seeds and was invited to test the limited edition One fragrance, one tree perfumes: Hugo Man and Hugo Elements.

These ‘fragranced greenhouses’ stayed 3 weeks in all shops and contributed to the success of this eco friendly initiative. 7000 hectares of trees have been planted in Amazonia and a sales record for Hugo Fragrance.
